And the further your journey goes, the more it seems as if you are just another ingredient for him, like everything else in his workshop. Alchemical trace Castles, monasteries, and old halls with broken flasks and strange symbols look like someone spent years trying to create something here that shouldn't even exist. You have to search for recipes everywhere, gather rare ingredients, and tinker with cauldrons, because many problems here can't be solved with a regular sword or key. Make a mistake with the brew, and you'll end up with a useless sludge. Do everything right, and you'll unlock a new ability or a passage further down the line. The closer you get to the Philosopher's Stone, the more unpleasant the answers become. Old notes, abandoned rooms, and the Alchemist's own behavior begin to form a completely different picture.
